Today, the final meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, chaired by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, took place in Lviv.

Kyiv region was strongly represented by the head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, Ruslan Kravchenko, and the leaders of the region’s communities.

The mayor of Irpin, Oleksandr Markushyn, was not invited to this event due to his controversial reputation: allegations of corruption, schemes involving exorbitant salaries, misuse and embezzlement of reconstruction funds, and forgery of decisions and executive committee documents.

All of this has led to Markushyn being declared persona non grata by the country’s leadership, government, regional authorities, and the broader sensible community.

For the first time, under the President’s initiative, each region selected its delegates during regional meetings.

Among the participants was the mayor of neighboring Bucha, Anatolii Fedoruk.

Among the speakers were the Head of State, the Speaker of Parliament, the Head of the President’s Office, the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and various ministers.

Key objectives include: the eSupport program, which has already reached 9 million people, the “Warm Winter” initiative, as well as the eHousing and eRestoration programs, and strengthening support for internally displaced persons (IDPs), veterans, and defenders.
