The municipal utility has officially denied false claims spread by former Irpin mayor Oleksandr Markushyn regarding an alleged 80 million UAH cost increase for the construction of a sewage pumping station (SPS) on Tekhnolohichna Street in Irpin.
Recently, Markushyn stated that last year, together with Irpinvodokanal, a project for the pumping station was developed, and that its cost was “40 million, not 125.”
However, the utility clarified that Markushyn’s information is not true.
“Between 2020 and 2025, KP ‘Irpinvodokanal’ did not commission or develop any project for the construction of a new SPS in Irpin on Tekhnolohichna Street. During this period, no budget, expert review, or cost estimates were prepared. No such projects were developed jointly with Mr. Markushyn. Therefore, the figure of 40 million UAH allegedly based on earlier projects is not supported by any design or budget documentation. Moreover, Irpinvodokanal has never owned this land plot and thus had no authority to commission project design or cost estimates for a new SPS on this site,” the utility stated.
Irpinvodokanal called on residents to trust only official sources of information and not to fall for manipulations aimed at spreading disinformation.
