Markushyn Continues to Lose His Former Allies

Since being suspended from his position as Mayor of Irpin, Oleksandr Markushyn has continued to lose the last remnants of his former team. All respectable figures in Irpin have now publicly distanced themselves from him — no one wants to be associated with petty corruption or habitual dishonesty.

His former deputies and colleagues from the city council have already condemned his corrupt actions. But beyond them, the real story is about those who once stood closest to him — people he relied on in his work but lost due to his irresponsibility and deceit.

Three of Markushyn’s former pillars within the executive committee — Tetiana YaroshenkoTamara Khalaim, and Khrystyna Hluzhanets — have refused to show any public support for the now-irrelevant former mayor. Not a single one of them appeared at his rallies or expressed solidarity. The same goes for the majority of city administration staff. Even employees of the municipal security service, “Municipal Watch”, have cut all ties with him. Not even the carefully crafted propaganda films and books — which tried to paint him as a wartime hero — could sway public opinion.

Even the individuals who stood shoulder to shoulder with Markushyn during the defense of Irpin in February–March 2022 have broken ranks. Among them are brothers Hennadii and Vitalii Tsymbarovych — once his close allies. Not only did Markushyn fail to keep them and their agency “CHUR” in his circle, but he now reportedly avoids any contact with them entirely. It’s said he deliberately plans his routes to steer clear of his former comrades — allegedly afraid to face them and answer for his words.

How low must one fall to turn admiration into contempt — all because of a manipulative redheaded “strategist”?

At this rate, Markushyn may vanish into political hiding. After all, the number of people who’d gladly spit in his face is growing faster than the high-rise buildings he approved during his time in office.
