We continue to compare the salaries of officials in various city councils in the Kyiv region and the Irpin City Council, where a salary scandal has erupted. This time, we focus on the head of the land resources department of the Irpin City Council, Anastasia Cherkas.
According to her declaration, she earned 1,024,031 UAH in 2023, which is approximately 85,000 UAH per month. Her colleague from neighboring Bucha, head of the land department of the Bucha City Council, Hanna Vozniuk, earns half that amount—469,535 UAH, or about 39,000 UAH per month.
A salary close to Anastasia Cherkas’s is received by Valentina Pelykh, the head of the Department of Land Resources of the Kyiv City State Administration. However, she oversees a significantly larger structural unit and earns 890,500 UAH per year in her position, which is 10,000 UAH less per month than the head of the land resources department in Irpin.
In the region, the closest colleague to her Irpin counterpart is Viktor Popovych, head of the Department of Land Relations Regulation in Vyshhorod. However, he earns approximately 300,000 UAH less per year, which is about 59,000 UAH per month.Colleagues of Anastasia Cherkas from other city councils in the region earn an average of 430,000 UAH per year or 35,800 UAH per month. This is about 2.5 times less than what the official in the Irpin City Council earns in a similar position. It is worth noting that some of Cherkas’s colleagues lead departments rather than divisions, which are larger structural units, yet they earn less than the head of the department in Irpin.
