The Buchan District Police Department opened criminal proceedings on the fact of illegal seizure of the official pages of the Irpin City Council in social networks by former Oleksandr Markushyn and his accomplices from among the city council employees.
We are talking about IMR pages on Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter) and Telegram. According to investigators, Oleksandr Markushyn, having been dismissed from the post of mayor of Irpin, retained full and sole access to them. Despite official appeals, he has not yet handed it over to the responsible officials of the city council.
These pages were created officially to cover the activities of local self-government bodies and communicate with the community. Instead, materials are now published on them on behalf of the former mayor, which, according to the representatives of the council, may mislead the residents of the community and undermine the credibility of the official sources of the city authorities. Because an individual who currently has no relation to the city council pretends to be the mayor of Irpin.
Other officials’ access to the pages is currently blocked.
Criminal proceedings №12025111040000835 opened under Part 4 of Art. 190 KCU. The punishment is imprisonment for a period of three to eight years.
