Former mayor of Irpin, Oleksandr Markushyn, was fully settled as an employee of the executive committee of the Irpin City Council.
Compared to 2023, the number of real estate properties increased from three to eight. In particular, in 2024 Oleksandr Markushyn became the owner of two apartments with areas of 77.7 m² and 57.7 m², as well as two land plots with a total area of 836 m².
It is also noteworthy that none of the properties declared by the official in 2023 disappeared from the list. However, in his 2024 income declaration, Oleksandr Markushyn reported receiving ₴2.8 million from the sale of real estate. Which property exactly — remains unknown. The buyer was Roman Kiforuk, the beneficiary of KPP Teplokomunmerezha LLC.
In addition, among Markushyn’s incomes for 2024 is ₴1.1 million in salary from the Irpin City Council, which averages around ₴93,000 per month.
Markushyn also became the owner of a 33.3% stake in Grupp 3 LLC, a company engaged in real estate leasing. However, there is no information about profits from this business share, nor from his previously declared company MAG-13 LLC. Interestingly, how exactly Markushyn acquired corporate rights to the new business is not specified in the declaration, though the value of the stake is listed as ₴135,108.
Despite the appearance of new real estate properties and business shares, Oleksandr Markushyn’s cash assets did not decrease — on the contrary, they increased by about ₴2 million. As of 2024, Markushyn held over ₴8 million in bank accounts and cash.
Since January 24 of this year, he has been held in pre-trial detention (SIZO), and for the past few months — under nighttime house arrest.
Markushyn is a figure in dozens of criminal proceedings conducted by the National Police, Bucha Prosecutor’s Office, and the State Bureau of Investigation. The cases concern abductions, embezzlement of budget funds, salary schemes, manipulations with developers’ contributions, and transferring money to affiliated companies.
In particular, Markushyn is suspected of embezzling humanitarian aid intended for the Armed Forces of Ukraine — five Infiniti cars. He is also accused of organizing a scheme to divert municipal land and premises — a boiler house in central Irpin — to his godmother, Liudmyla Haina. Both cases are currently under investigation by law enforcement.
