Former mayor of Irpin Oleksandr Markushyn was fully settled with as an employee of the executive committee of the Irpin City Council.

Compared to 2023, the number of real estate properties he owns increased from three to eight. In particular, in 2024, Oleksandr Markushyn became the owner of two apartments measuring 77.7 m² and 57.7 m², as well as two land plots with a total area of 836 m².

Interestingly, none of the properties declared by the official in 2023 disappeared from the list. However, in the list of incomes for 2024, Oleksandr Markushyn states that he received ₴2.8 million from the sale of real estate. Which property that was is unknown. The buyer was Roman Kyforuk, the beneficiary of LLC “KPP Teplokomunmerezha.”

In addition, among Markushyn’s 2024 income is ₴1.1 million in salary from the Irpin City Council, which is approximately ₴93,000 per month on average.

Markushyn became the owner of 33.3% of LLC “GROUP 3,” which is engaged in renting out real estate. However, there is no information on profits from this business share, nor from the previously declared LLC “MAG-13.” Incidentally, the declaration does not state how Markushyn acquired corporate rights to the new business, but it does list the value of the share as ₴135,108.

Despite the appearance of new real estate properties and a share in a business, Oleksandr Markushyn’s cash assets did not decrease — on the contrary, they increased by about ₴2 million. As of 2024, he had over ₴8 million in bank accounts or cash.

Since January 24 of this year, he has been in a pre-trial detention center (SIZO), and for the last few months — under nighttime house arrest.

Markushyn is a figure in dozens of criminal proceedings of the National Police, the Bucha Prosecutor’s Office, and the State Bureau of Investigations. The cases involve kidnapping, misappropriation of budget funds, payroll schemes, manipulations with developers’ contributions, and siphoning off funds to affiliated companies.

In particular, Markushyn is suspected of misappropriating humanitarian aid intended for the Armed Forces of Ukraine — 5 Infiniti cars — as well as organizing a scheme to transfer municipal land and premises — a boiler house in the center of Irpin — to his godmother, Lyudmyla Haïna. Both cases are currently under investigation by law enforcement.
